Arrange DEERS or ID-card service from Thailand
Practical guide
At a glance
JUSMAGTHAI currently advertises DEERS / ID-card walk-in service Tuesdays and Thursdays, 09:00–12:00, with no appointments. Confirm your specific service and documents before travel.
Steps for a Bangkok visit
- Open the active ID Card / DEERS Office panel on the JUSMAGTHAI homepage. On 25 October 2026, its rendered notice advertised Tuesdays and Thursdays, 09:00–12:00, walk-ins only, with no appointments. The notice is undated and says effective immediately; it is not a guarantee of service on a particular day.
- Cross-check the official RAPIDS ID Card Office locator: search Bangkok, Thailand and select JOINT US MILITARY ADVISORY GRP THAILAND, Site ID 700206. On 25 October 2026, the locator independently listed Tuesday / Thursday office and walk-in hours of 09:00–12:00. It listed 7 Sathorn Tai Road, Attn Joint Support, Room D109.
- Confirm that the office can complete your particular transaction before travelling, especially a first-time dependent registration or retiree / dependent USID card. The active panel lists CAC issue or renewal, DEERS updates, PIN / certificate updates and ID replacement; this does not establish every transaction available to every visitor.
- Plan for first-come, first-served service, with priority for active-duty personnel and their families. The notice says capacity may be limited and the office closes on Thai and U.S. holidays. A walk-in does not guarantee same-day completion.
- Ask which original or certified records, identification, sponsor authorization and foreign-document translations your case requires. For marriage or dependent changes, use the official DEERS and required-documents instructions below and ask the office to confirm your list.
- For an existing record, check which contact-information changes can be made online or through DMDC. Updating contact details is not the same as adding a dependent or issuing an ID card.
- If the Bangkok office confirms it cannot handle your case, use the official ID Card Office locator to find an alternative. Confirm the alternative office’s service, documents and access requirements before booking travel. Do not assume an overseas trip is necessary.
Conflicting notices: confirm before travel
The active homepage panel advertises walk-in service, but the separate Retiree Activities Office page still contains conflicting suspension and appointment-only guidance. We previously repeated the suspension as a blanket current status; that was incorrect. Use the active homepage notice and confirm your specific service directly. RAO office hours are separate from ID-card issuing hours.
The official site lists the main contact as +66 2 287 1036 and jusmagthai@state.gov. Ask about your service and documents without emailing Social Security numbers, identity-document scans or other sensitive records unless an official secure submission route is confirmed.
Checked 25 October 2026: the homepage notice was visibly rendered in the active ID-card panel. Its publication date was not provided.
